Hello! I have a surgery date of March 3rd. I'm very worried because I gained 5 lbs since I seen the dr last. I see him again the 21st! I am so worried I won't lose it even though I'm trying. Ugh! I hate this! Wonder if I don't lose it if my surgery will be postponed? I'm so afraid of this.

If you are able get some excersise in along with the nigh protien diet. Do you have a 2 week pre-op diet comming up? If so, try to get some good quality excersise in then too. The high protien, Water, and excersize will burn off alot of skeletal and hepatic glycogen (ready to use sugar sources for your body). Glycogen carries alot of water and is very heavy. It also takes up alot of space and will shrink your liver after you have burned alot of it off.

Don't worry about getting your last feast in. Maybe that is why u have gained weight.. Nervous eating. I can attest u will be able to still enjoy wonderful, heathy food , even after surgery..(.of course u will have to go through the various eating stages to get there.). Get on a high Protein diet , low carb today. U can lose these five pounds before your next dr visit, plus some. Start ToDAY..NOW. oK. :)

only your doctor can decide this. My doctor told me to quit smoking. His NP said they won't do surgery if I don't. He told me he wouldn't hold surgery up for that. I think many people gain because they are mourning the food in their lives

Thanks everyone for your advice. I have taken it and am now below what I weighed when I went to the dr by 3 lbs. I go for my class on the 18th and start the pre op diet that day too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
