Not sure if this bruising is normal? Help.

I apologize for the graphic content, but I'm bruised to hell and back. Doctors said it was normal, and they weren't worried but I dunno it just seems extreme to me. I'm two days post op, was sleeved on Wednesday. Any help would be great!

Erin

Wow, that's some really extreme bruising. I don't have any great advice, I can only say that if my bruise from the anti clotting stuff had covered that large of an area, I would be calling my primary for a second opinion on it. Keep in mind I'm really jumpy and quick to start making phone calls. haha Mine was that dark, but only slightly larger than the size of a soft ball.

I'm usually quick to call too! Luckily, I happen to be staying with my parents who are both in the medical field (and I am as well) so they're keeping a close eye. I really think my stomach was removed from my belly button, and that's what caused it. I don't know what else would explain it.

Just an update. Went to ER last night because of increased pain and increased size of bruise. Told me that it was normal, and they didn't see any obvious signs of a hematoma so that I just had to be patient and wait for it to heal on it's own. Here's the bruise last night.

I bruise easily also and every where they gave me a shot I had a huge bruise. My surgery was 1/28 and the bruises are still slightly visible. Give it some time you'll be fine!

Good luck to you!!

Good golly, miss Molly! Sorry about the pain, but glad they're optimistic.
