Ok whats wrong with me ! LOL
Everyone's body drops the weight differently! Sounds like yours is probably coming off more your face, arms, etc. Do your pants feel like they fit better, even if you haven't changed sizes? I've been wearing the same size jeans for the last 30 pounds or so, myself. The waist has gotten loser and they're gapping at the back now, but my thighs and butt haven't gotten any smaller so I can't go down a size. I had forgotten about this problem when I was at this weight on the way up!

Optimal Time
I don't know if the procedures are any different where you're going, but I was out of surgery in 30 minutes and home before lunch time the same day, less than maybe 3 hours later. I'm not sure you'd want to travel back home that quickly, but if you've got a comfy hotel room to go to, and especially if you've got someone with you to help out, I'd see no reason for that long. (Save for any complications you may encounter, of course!) Good luck with your upcoming surgery!

Pain when drinking?
I had a lot of problems drinking for the first week. I would take a sip, get a horrible tight chest feeling, then a glug glug and it would go down. Once I finally got in to see my surgeon, he accessed my port and found 1cc in the band they hadn't intentionally left there. They fill the band and remove it (although some intentionally leave some in) to check for leaks before they seal you back up. That 1cc was enough to make me too tight. It couldn't hurt to call your surgeon or liaison and let them know you're having probs. Good luck and congrats!

Anxiety Tightness
I'm going through some severe non-band related medical problems that have my anxiety levels absolutely through the moon. This is the first time I've ever not had the urge to turn to food AT ALL when I was stressed out, that alone is crazy enough. That being said, I'm having trouble even forcing myself to drink or eat the last two days. It's a blend of mentally having no appetite and physically my band being tighter than normal from the stress. Yesterday I got down a Protein shake in the morning, three chicken nuggets from Wendy's at lunch time, and then about five bites of an omelet at dinner time. Today I've been able to sip some Water, and ate a Protein Bar broken up into two sittings. Food is absolutely revolting to me right now, this is the most insane thing to me ever being the foody I've always been. I know this seems like plenty of food for a lot of you, but for me and my band, this isn't now how we roll together. Any suggestions maybe on things that would be palatable and easy to get down while I'm going through this?

Do you ever feel disappointed that you can't eat much?
Sometimes, definitely! When we go out to eat and there's this table FULL of awesome looking food and I know good and well I can only eat a fraction of it. There's ALWAYS going to be the 300+ pound girl inside of me that just wants to EAT EAT EAT! Just gotta try to keep her beat down as far as I can most of the time!

Lets talk Sliders!
Mashed potatoes are my big "problem" slider! I just love them! I still eat them, I just have to be careful to get plenty of protein in first so it can kind of "hold up" the potatoes so they don't just take right on off through.

First fill was intense
Mine has never had to pick and prod that much for my port with his hands. One time, he did have to poke around inside with the needle a couple of times to hit the right spot on the port...now THAT was painful! But I'm always sore for a day or two afterward, no matter how gentle he was with me. In fact, I just had a fill on Tuesday last week, and I thought it was the most gentle experience fill wise that I've had so far. It was a breeze! But even now days later, I'm still a bit tender and I got a nasty bruise this time. I have a feeling it will be a little bit different each time. As you lose weight and exercise, your port will move around a little bit, and become easier and easier for them to find. So really, I think the word you used is most appropriate. "Uncomfortable" but I've never personally had one that was straight up painful. It's worth it, and don't worry, most of us don't have to have TOO many fills before we hit that sweet spot for a good long while.

Can We Eat Popcorn?
No one is saying you should, vissmicki. Whatever's working for you, you just keep on rocking it! Back to the popcorn, I loooooooove the stuff! I just make sure I limit myself to no more than a serving and try to pick the "lesser of evils" calorie wise when choosing a brand/type!

Saying Goodbye to My 9 Year Old Lap Band
CONGRATULATIONS!!! The band is not for everyone, but in the long run, you found what works for YOU and that is exactly what this is all about!

Not taking liquids is that ok?
For the first day or two, Water alone should be just fine. But you really do need to start getting some sort of calories and nutrients in you. I had trouble stomaching MORE broth after so much of it during pre-op, so I was straining low sodium broth based Soups and sipping them through out the day.

Is there a Cure for Stubborness and Bad Habits?
I try to cut all my food up into small bites before I even begin to eat. That way I don't have to keep trying to make the conscious effort throughout the entire meal. That leaves the biggest thing for me to fight is not getting into a hurry and trying to pick up TWO pieces of food on my fork to cram into my mouth.

To Exercise or Not When You are Sick
My own opinion? Get up and walk around a lil bit if you feel like it, but otherwise, get some rest! Your body needs to be able to put energy into getting you better. If you push it too far, you may just prolong your illness. Hope you feel better soon!

March Challenge-Lucky to be Losing!
Not going so well over here! I'm actually up a pound from the beginning of the month. Going in for a fill next week and hopefully between that recommitting myself and getting back to the basics, I can get things going in the right direction again! GET IT TOGETHER, TARA! YOU'VE GOT 34 POUNDS TO TRY TO SHED BEFORE AUGUST! lol

Hair loss, when?
I'm about 7.5 months post op, and have only in the last month started noticing a small amount of extra hair loss. Not enough to even notice the thinning on my head, but enough to notice that more strands are finding their way into my brush. Of course I also battle thyroid problems, so it's hard for me to even venture to guess the exact reason for it.

loose skin
How old are you? 33 What surgery did you have? Lapband Male or female? Female How much weight did you lose? 84 so far with a lot more to go! How fast did you lose your weight? Sometimes it drips off me, others it feels like it's going to hang on forever! Was banded late July 2013. If you are female and didn't have cosmetic surgery, are you comfortable enough to go to the beach in a bikini? PFFFFT. lol How much loose skin do you have? My arms are going to be really bad, I can already tell. I'm not shocked though, I've always had huge arms anyway. If I ever get up the nerve and money in the future to have plastics, my arms will def be the first to go. I'm just now starting to see signs on my stomach of how much skin there's going to be, I think it will be relatively substantial but possibly not so much that I will feel like I absolutely have to have a tummy tuck to go on. I'm worried to see how my thighs and legs will end up. I've always had tree trunks for legs. I can't even visually imagine what they will look like if the fat is ever gone off of them.

Gwynnie bee anyone?
What a neat idea! It's a bit out of my budget and I really have no use for such fancy clothes since I live in jeans and tees, but I just love the whole concept!
