It could be. At first it was difficult for me to drink post op. Anything cold didn't sit well in my stomach and i felt a little ache. Have you tried drinking something warm? Tea or anything like that? Sometimes it just takes a couple of days to get used to the liquids. Of course if the pain gets worse you should call your doctor.

I actually meant sleeved 1/29/14 so I am a little over 1 week pos-op. Stomach just get sore esp when trying to consume protein?

  • i was sleeved on tuesday and am in pain around my large incision site. I'm doing good with sipping. My instructions are 2-3 ounces every 15-30 minutes. first week - clear liquids. including jello, popcicles. i have a tasteless protein im putting in my water too.

What protein are u using in water is it unjury?

I had this too, as well as pain when I drank something cold. Am 3 weeks post op and still do feel pain when drinking cold drinks. Take my advice and go slow when introducing foods. I've made the mistake of thinking my "baby stomach" could handle a few bites of Pasta, for example, and (not to be gross) it came up 10 minutes later! :(

i got Isopure.

this is one of the you had surgery signs!

your still healing bruised and swollen food or drink other than a sip or 3 is like you poking a external wound over and over- its gonna hurt.

when you drink your making your stomach do work while its healing its full its breaking it down its producing stomach juices etc its like ahhh man leave me i am sore and sick *cough and protesting
