E cigarettes

Hello, this is my first time writing, I am only home from hospital 2 days, and I am doing ok on liquid diet. I am really really craving a cigarette though! Can anyone help? Are E cigarettes any better than a regular cigarette?

No they are just as bad. In addition, your lunh capacity is less and right now you run the risk of pneumonia. So with that being said every time you think of smoking use that lovely breathing toy. Remember nicotine slows the healing process as well.

Nicotine is one of he greatest risk factors for blood clots.

Well as a fellow x smoker here I do sympathize with you. I must say I am a little shocked that at 2 days out of surgery you are craving a Cigarette. Did your doctor talk to you about the dangers of cigarette smoke? I am sure he did so that is why you are asking about the E Cigarette but they also have nicotine. I would be so scared to put anything in my stomach right out of surgery. I am 6 months out and I did take a hit off a E cigarette from my sister and it was fine but 6 months out I guess I lost judgment. I was out with sister and was craving one and I gave in and had some of my sisters. I hated myself because I really want to change my life and live healthy and I have worked so hard. It was one blip and I was back on the health wagon. Hang in there and I would talk to your doc about the E cigarette my guess is no but you never know. Take care of your self and hang in there. You have just begun this journey and I wish you the best. I just wanted to tell you I totally understand. I had to quit for 6 months before my surgery so I would not have any cravings. So good luck and wish you a speedy recovery.
