I am officially a post sleever!

Hi everyone! Thank you for the we'll wishes! I was sleeved as of 10am today. I am on dilaudit, and taking advantages of every bit. I have been in and out today. Extremely tired and somewhat dizzy. I couldn't walk much the first time due to being dizzy. The walk itself was not painful at all. The staff here is AMAZING! I will try to keep everyone posted. I do know one thing, it's freakin HOT in my room. Thank goodness it's a private room. I am dying for Water....I have to wait until my leak test tomorrow :(. Off to sleep again, I can feel my eyes rolling!

I was lucky to have ice chips before my leak test. I also had the sponge-things to moisten my mouth. I got up, peed, walked, peed went back to bed, woke up, peed, walked, peed and went back to bed......... the first couple of days. I pushed myself to walk as much as possible to help with the gas pain--in the shoulders UGH. Hurt like a Mother-you-know-what. I've been back to work since 12/30 and so far so good.

Yahoo that pain is ridiculous. It's right under my ribs. They tried to take away my dilaudid and gave me something else that didn't work at all and made me sick. So now I'm on Dilaudid every hours and an into inflamitory that has worked wonders. The dilaudid has only been working for 2 hours at a time. I'm not leaving until my pain is bearable.

FitnFabfor2014,

I hope your doc and insurance will allow you to stay as long as you need to. I agree with you staying until your pain is bearable. I know everyone is different and I've read on this site some people leaving the hospital after 1 night!!! This is MAJOR surgery. It's not like you're getting a hang nail removed for goodness sake. Sending a prayer you are able to stay as long as you need and you are able to alleviate the pain.

I was asking the same thing. I couldn't even have imagined leaving before day 2. When the medication kicks in I feel like I'm on cloud nine! Hehe

Hi, I'm on percocet. I don't have pain if I to keep popping meds. It's a struggle to get fluids in. I went home on day three and without pain meds it's horrible. I can't eat applesauce, but I do good with yogurt. Water is hard I've even tried Crystal light, but I'm still trying. I don't want to end up in the hospital. I walked this morning and it felt ok.

Hang in there! I was sleeved Dec. 1 and am doing pretty well. The first week was tough. Every day gets better.
