Gas or Muscle Spasms

I was banded on the 30th - I did not have gas pain in my shoulders at all. In fact was pretty comfortable. But now I keep getting pains in the middle of my chest, kinda of by me breast bone. Feels almost like a spasm in my diaphram??? Any one else have this? I am thinking it is gas in my stomach causes this.

I sort of feel at times since surgery something is sitting on my breastbone when I know nothing is there. I had small bouts of "gas" shoulder pain, very similar to the feeling around the breastbone.

  • Probably gas! Take it easy, it has only been two days. By the way, my shoulder pain from gas did not start for about 5 days after surgery. You could be experiencing a multitude of things right now.

Take your pain meds if you have them, or if not try some Tylenol liquid available at most drug stores. Best wishes for a Happy 2014 and new you, too! Karen..aka..kll724

You can also try Gas-X...it comes in dissolvable strips that you place on your tongue. If it goes away - then it's gas pain ????. Walking around also helps!
