Protein Powders?

Hi Everyone-

I have to start my liver reduction diet today for my surgery next week. I'm a little low on funds and am trying to shop around for the best and most economical powder for my shakes (mixed with Water, ugh). I would be interested to know what some of you used and if you kept using the same brand after surgery.

Thanks, Sherri

I used what my surgeon suggested at first then the taste and smell almost made me puke !!!! I switched around a bit but always purchased a brand that was dense in Protein.

Unsure protein shakes are the best of the lot, from my personal experience .. They even have a protein chicken soup!

If you have a costco or sams club (some walmarts) premier protein shakes are great..30 grams of protein...body fortress whey vanilla creme at walmart is 22 for a tub, mixes well with water and you can add flavors....gnc has a line called total lean that cost a bit more but its good...unjury you have to order off line you can get a sample pack, I use their unflavored and chicken soup....an unflavored still have a taste but I add it to crystal light, hot chocolate and my starbucks skinny lattes and you dont taste it.

Just a note by 7 or 8 weeks they would like you to try to get most of your protein from food and only use shakes if needed, im going on 9 weeks and might do one a day ...good luck

I love the Optimum Nutrition shakes. They are about $54 for 5 lbs which isn't too bad. They have awesome flavors too. I've had mocha cappuccino, coffee, and chocolate coconut and none of them taste like protein! This is what the brand name is:

Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard. Look for it on Amazon for the best price and variety of flavors!

Nectar Sweets or Nectar Naturals by Syntrax are great tasting.

But I am not always in the mood for sweet shakes .. I need a Protein that it warming and soothing in these cold winter days .. More into salty than sweet as I was before surgery .. The Unsure chicken soup flavored protein was one I will order again for those qualities ..

Anyone else know how to get their protein which is well flavored? Thanks in advance ...
