I was just banded yesterday morning 12/11/13. I was so very ready for it and very excited for the day to finally come. Yesterday I had pretty bad gas/air pain in my collarbone and chest area, but today it has already improved and Im just real sore at incision sites. Not as bad as I expected though. Looking forward to meeting people on here, getting and giving support. Very happy to have found this site :)

You have a new friend now, your band.

You'll recover soon and enjoy it ( or him? Her?)

I'm Italian and make a lot of mistakes..

I am newly banded - 12/10. Doing fine but feeling full all the time. I guess from swelling? On full liquids and looking forward to my favorite mashed cauliflower in 2 weeks. So far so good.

I also was banded 12/10. I am doing okay gas pain was horrible. My incisions are improving. The one that is really swollen and itchy is near my port. Should I be alarmed by any of this. Thank you everyone!?

After about 5 days out I actually became more sore inside is the only way I can explain it. Its been exactly one week today and Im feeling a bit more gas pain now than I was on day 3 or 4 but nothing that cant be tolerated. Ive had no problems keeping anything down. Drinking fine and on to mushies today :) cream of wheat never tasted sooo good. Ate slow and small amount, no problems. So in my case I feel like Im just dealing with gas and surgery pain still. I realize after reading this site just how much everyones journey is alike but oh so different.

I am 2 days before you and I get it. Some days no pain or discomfort at all and others I need a dose of Tylenol again. Can't wait until Monday to start on soft foods, my doctor says 2 weeks Clear Liquids. For the most part I am not hungry either, I guess that could be because of swelling and bloating.

Hi again. I was banded on 12/10 and had my 2nd follow up appt today. From the 2 weeks prior to my surgery til today I have lost 23 lbs!! Almost a pound per day since the band. I am so psyched. I feel great but still have some twinges in the incisions. Trying not to bend or stretch too much. Overall I am feeling great. Glad I did it.

I was banded 12/10 I went for follow up on thursday .. I've lost 13 pounds. So weird I am bloated especially near my port but feel less bloated... I have always been puffy looking and I think its been Water weight. I can tell the weight change in my face. My first fill is 1/9 excited. I know the weight will be harder but every pound is well worth it.

I have not had a follow up appt yet, because of the holidays my doctors are out of town. My primary care physician and my surgeon are husband and wife so that does make things very convenient for me :)

My first fill is on the 30th and my follow up the first week of January. My daughters are home for Christmas, we went out to dinner tonight. While they all ate a regular meal, I ordered a bowl of oatmeal. I ended up eating about a 1/4 cup, didn't want to overdo it since this is the first non liquid food and I'm not supposed to have any until Monday. Brought the rest home and I think there is enough for about a week!!!

I am also still bloated and passing gas, will be glad when that phase ends! In the first 11 days post surgery, I am down 9 pounds as of yesterday. Already have a couple pair of pants that will be leaving my closet!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
