Endoscopy And Diabetes

Has anyone had the endoscopy done and is diabetic? My doctor is unsure of what ends I can take it not before the procedure.

I am a Type I diabetic, and I have had an upper endoscopy. You should talk to your diabetes specialist about your meds., and I would recommend having it done first thing in the morning, since you need to fast beforehand. does this answer your question? I'm not sure what you are asking...

Sorry just saw the typo! I'm type 2 diabetic and my doctor is unsure what meds I should/ shouldn't take before the procedure. I take both short: long acting insulin plus 1000mg of metformin 2x a day
