  • Popular Post

I met with my doc and had the info session last week. We scheduled my appointment with the surgeon for Feb 4th. I will finish my required 3 month diet and behavior modification program the end of January. After the appointment on the 4th they willsubmit for insurance and I hope to be under the knife on Feb. 20th. Can't wait

are you a coffee drinker? My issue was soda, but I went cold turkey, after a few days the headaches stopped

Yeah. It's coffee that's killing me.

Surgery date of Feb 4th here!! Just finished all my preop stuff including..psych, nutritionist, pcp, and labs! Registration for the hospital on the 23rd! It...just feels so unreal. I'm scared but excited too...but did I say scared??? Yeah that!

I'm a little scared, too. I think we got this, though!!! This is a good decision. :)

I just got horrible news, my brother who was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and went through bone marrow transplant using his own bone marrow, today met with his doctors and found out his meds are not working and his cancer is progressing. He now requires a transplant from someone else, preferably a sibling. I need to get my surgery done sooner rather than later, because currently being on insulin, I can not be a donor. Tomorrow I will call and hopefully get answers to my questions about how long I must be off insulin before I can be a donor. Does my surgery complicate things and many more. If he is unable to get a transplant and the new meds don't work he could have less than a year to live. Last year was the worst year of my life, I lost my mother and had so many other things happen in mine and my husband's life which was what started me on this journey to lose the weight, I vowed I was not going to be my mother, I am going to get healthy and be active and happy this year, this is not the year to lose my brother.

Oh my goodness, Rae, that is truly terrible news! I'm sorry for the stress you must be going through. Big hugs.

Thanks for the encouragement about the endoscopy- I think I'm just stressing this final month!

Rea- I lost my siblings within a year of each other 10 years ago and 2 weeks ago I lost my father. You're right though, avoiding sickness and early death is a good motivation to move forward with this surgery.

Best of luck to you.

Big hugs to you!!

Rae, I hope you are ok. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I've had an endo and it was a breeze. You're going to be fine!!! You've got this!!

I'm sure it's gonna get me judged, but I start my 2 week liquid diet on Monday, so I've been eating like an a-hole all weekend. It's shameful.
