The 5:2 Diet

Im having trouble losing this last 25 lbs and have been thinking of trying the 5:2 diet.

I know many of you have been using this diet as a tool. ive searched the forum and didnt get any hits. isnt there a support group for this topic? I cant find it anymore.

Questions:

Are you currently on this diet? (or have you been?)

What has your experience with it been like?

Any links you can recommend?

What do i need to know?

FYE is there a tv documentary on the exercise plan or just the book?

I watched it on a PBS site, because it replayed in the US, but it seemsall shows were yanked at some point.. I will see if I can find it somewhere. Here is the short preview....

Thanks FYE I will watch it, book still not available in UK but they are taking pre- orders so it must be soon. Kindle edition available so might consider getting that.

One thing I really like about 5:2 is that I also feel full when I eat, also I notice a lot of restriction the day after a fast day. I'm having my first "meal" right now...protein drink.

Ended up skipping my regular Protein drink, will have dinner around 4, a snack after that sometime, and call it good. I did drink 8 glasses of Water... I know all this holiday eating is really salty...

Today is my fast day, just like last week, I do have a bit of a headache, but not as bad. I finished my dinner at 7:00 last night and didn't eat again till 1:00 today when I had a small Wendy's chilli. I have been craving chocolate in the worst way today, and my sugar free hot chocolate did nothing to satisfy the craving. I just keep reminding myself I can have it tomorrow. Bill is heating me up some of his homemade chicken soup for dinner and that should finish me up right at 495 calories for the day. How did the other Monday fasters do today?

After my egg omelette I'll be at 496 cals today. Can't believe it. Feels great! Wtg everyone!

Sounds like you had a fabulous fast day too!

That's awesome! What a great start to a great lifestyle! It works! I'm proof!!

I did fine today too, skipped food until 4pm, then some yummy soup. However, I had some SF chocolate pudding because I was craving chocolate too! Naughty me. Still on the mark though. Felt great. Yes, there is always tomorrow, one of the fantastic things about the 5:2! Great job girls!
