Hi guys new to this site and feeling a little down. I'm day 3 post op and have had non stop headaches since surgery. I always had headaches before surgery but was not expecting this hurdle. I am drinking and manged to get 1/2 a yogurt down. I am continually drinking so as not to get dehydrated. I believe the headaches are menstrual or caffeine withdrawl related

It was recommended that I give up caffeine 2 weeks before surgery, which I didn't do. I had the worst headaches post op for about a week. It was terrible. I deserved that punishment.

It's the coffee...

My surgery is the 27th. Thanks for the coffee tip. I get headaches often anyway and didn't think about that being a big problem after surgery. I'm getting off coffee right now. Maybe that will help.

Op I feel your pain, thank god not literally. Day 2 in hospital I was sobbing in my bed because it hurt so bad. Dr ordered me Imitrex at 9am, they didn't bring to me until 330pm. They kept sending in these nurses aids to get me to walk and finally I cursed them out and told them to get me my headache meds or I was calling my lawyer. At any rate, my dr sent me home with a prescription for Imitrex. Worked like a charm. They're very small pills and go down easily and work almost immediately.
