Bronco0605 135 Posted November 12, 2013 I have headaches and Migraines regularly. The migraines are absoluetly debilitating. I have been on the preop diet now one week with one week to go and noe the headaches have come. this is my second Migraine and it is a doozy, dizzyness, nausea, extreme pain. I was doing well before the diet which consists of 4 directions products ( like optifast) approx 800 calories per day. I am concerned about not only the calorie restriction now but after surgery when my intake is extremely low. Will my headaches continue to be exacerbated like this? One or two a monthI can handle but two o week not so much!
Arts137 1,811 Posted November 12, 2013 Please see your MD team. Migraines (as you know) have no simple answers, and you need to get your medical team in a full court press to balance your nutritional needs with the care of the migraines. With luck, it might be associated with (what I call) the 'detox' process in the preop diet, or might be brought on by something specific in the meal suppliment. BUT in any case, make then doctors work for the money! This should bring you some hope: http://www.webmd.com/diet/weight-loss-surgery/news/20110328/weight-loss-after-bariatric-surgery-may-ease-migraines
