Fruit Smoothies allowed during Pre-Op?

Hi it's my first day pre-op & since I can't have my favorite blended butter toffee mocha the next best is a fruit smoothie from Extreme Juice.... just fruits & fruit juice, does anyone know if this is allowed? Still waiting on my coordinator to respond :/

On my pre-op, I wouldn't be allowed a smoothie from Extreme Juice.

I'm allowed 2 protein smoothies and a lean and green dinner - trying to get in 60 grams of protein.

the NUT in my doctor's office told me this week to have "a couple of blueberries or strawberries in your protein shake" So I asked her, "When you say a couple, are you talking about a 1/4 cup or something like that?" Her response: "Less than a quarter cup." Yeah, that's like 2-3 strawberries - literally A COUPLE.

Good luck with your pre-op!!!!

I use to eat grapes by the bag full, thinking they were good for me...wrong...I can have 13..thats it..3 strawberries..only a few blueberries..

Blended and peeled fruit removes the fiber and strips the nutrients from the mashed fruit. All that is essentiailly left is sugar. Fruti smoothies are marketed as healthy, but are filled with carbs and calories.

Was not allowed for me.

Dang - after I posted it I was thinking sheesh what a newbie, of course its allowed! :/ my coordinator emailed & said it is as long as there's no pulp... but I'm with you all on avoiding the carbs & sugar.

Thank you - :)
