  • Refried beans sprinkled with a little Queso Fresco. I make the refried beans myself and it was so needed during the post op phase. Canned refried works too but it's so easy to make on your own.

Home made refritos (refried beans), with cheese.

My favorite thing so far has been cinnamon Jello applesauce:

Boil Water, melt a handful of redhots in the water (yes, I realize these contain a small amount of sugar)

Pour in your jello (1 large, or 2 small boxes) into the boiling water

Mix in No-sugar added applesauce instead of the cold water

Soooooooooo yummy ;)

Gonna venture out to buy things for tomorrow!

This is gonna sound disgusting but I swear it tastes like a flipping dip

chicken

Guacamole

Sour Cream

Tomato Salsa (Pico de gallo)

cheese

Blended it all together in my ninja and was the bomb.

Refried beans! Mmmmmm! I made a few trips to Taco Bell.

That actually sounds phenomenal! I'm finally past my "mushy" stage, but never had any issues with any food so far. Keeping my fingers crossed.

oatmeal was my favorite, comes in many flavors for variety!

I found Peace Love and Low Carb on-line and made her Low Carb meat sauce - and then I took cottage cheese and the meat sauce baked in the oven and added a sprinkle of low fat mozzerella on top - noodleless lasagna and very comforting.

My favorite mushy food was and still is mashed potatoes. I could eat them every day. 1/4 cup is all I allow myself. And I savor every bite.

I was so looking forward to this mushy phase, but my first attempt was way too dry and essentially a paste. I could barely eat any of it.
Day 2 has gone much better. I had scrambled eggs, with ham and cheese. (The ham was finely diced).

Tonight we had what I would call chicken cordon bleu (official title Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Ham and Cheese) but without the breadcrumbs. Actually both were from a recipe I found in a book called Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery by Patt Levine and Michele Bontempo-Saray. This book offers good healthy recipes and ways to prepare it for various stages (puree or whatever) and even for band, gastric bypass, BPD-DS, or 'others'. The others are the rest of your family not on the restricted diet. They have a lot more variety than ham and cheese stuff but that's just what spoke to me today.

Made a great zucchini potato soup.sauté 1 onion in olive oil add 6diced zucchinis and 2diced potatoes add 1cup water boil for 1 hour blend with hand stick blender add salt and pepper to taste. Its great and goes down well
