any suggestions on how to get "un stuck"?

Recommended Posts

I feel like I have something stuck - ever since Friday morning...Every time I try to eat or drink all I can have is a bite or a sip - I have the gurgling and burping and hic ups going on too...I have tried to make myself sick (yes I know that I shouldn't) but to no avail...any suggestions?

ummmmm lemme think..

#1 Papaya enzyme seems to help some people. It helps to breakdown food

#2 You sound more inflammed (post stuck) than you sound stuck. Being stuck for days on end seems a little peculiar. I would suspect if that were the case you'd be in such discomfort you would refrain from eating and drinking anything. The fact that some food/water passes is also another indication that it's more of a tight band/inflammed stoma.

Recommendation

1) Report symptoms to doc

2) Go liquids. Start clear, than full, than softs etc. Go as slow as you need to transition without an adverse symptoms. This can take days, even a week.

The more you eat and agitate this inflammed area the worse the inflammation and you risk occlusion in which unfill would be mandatory. Baby your band.

Also, some would recommend liquid motrin to help w/ inflammation. I would personally do this but not for an extended period. Make sure it's liquid.< /p>

My lap band surgeon told me to keep pineapple juice on hand for any "stuck" issues; it will move one way or the other. My guess is something to do with the enzymes in the juice (?)

My nutritionist says WARM things (Soup / tea, etc.) open the band a little; COLD things restrict ---> if that makes sense :)

Good Luck~!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
