I'm supposed to go to a concert tomorrow. My husband bought the tickets a long time ago but I'm worried about being able to walk from the parking lot all the way to the seat at 5 days post op. What do you guys think?

Could he drop you off at the entrance and pick you up at the end?

Duh! (smacks forehead). Don't know why I didn't think of that!! Thanks a lot Molly!

Anyone else have a September 23rd surgery date? I'm kinda looking to compare some results........

I know there is a September post op group. You should prob check there.

I've been having upper back pain. Do you think it's gas?

It could be but I also noticed upper back pain and realised it was because I was standing, sitting and sleeping differently since the op. Kinda protecting my tummy with my back bent. Just a thought. Now when I feel it, I just lay flat til it goes after a few mins.

I'm at 2 wks and feeling quite different than before. I know my pouch has stepped into a new healed phase. My pouch is more sensitive to quantity, I can tell when I've swallowed to much. My appetite is lacking. I don't want anything, at all. I struggle to get fluids in and have failed 2 days straight to get all protein in. The thought of puréed food makes me gag, and taking a bite of it makes me vomit. I'm hoping that this to shall pass and it's normal.

Hi all, my surgery was 10/15. Came home on 10/16. All was good. Yesterday I had a massive headache and bought some Tylenol liquid pain reliever. I also tried a tiny bit of yogurt and tiny bit of strained cream soup. Well , all hell broke loose, I have had diarrhea all day today and have chills. Struggling to get my water down and the thought of anything else makes me gag. Help!

I know what you mean. I'm on day 10 and the thought of four more days of liquid then two more weeks of slightly thicker liquids then two weeks of purée makes me gag too!

Could you have experienced your first dumping syndrome? It sounds like it. Was there sugar in the liquid pain meds? I've heard someone have the same reaction before.

I'm on day 10 post op and I feel miserable. I wasn't able to get my drain taken out on Friday. The nurse said I still had too much fluid. Just when the gas pain went away, it came back but worse when i started protein shakes. Had several diarrhea episodes and I don't have an appetite. I'm back to clear fluids. The pain in my chest is just depressing. I'm trying to stay positive and remember that I had lapband removal, hiatal repair and the bypass in one surgery. I pray this will be better this week.

I thought that it could be dumping because the Tylenol has high fructose in it. But would that cause diarrhea all day? Won't be taking that again.

I've heard the bouts can last a while. How are you feeling now? Take it as a good sign, you're a dumper, lol. I'm worried I might be one of those who never do. Way too early to tell but I've had squizzed up prunes in juice with yoghurt three times and felt nothing. On the other hand I had a glass of milk last night and felt a wee but queasy.
