OMG October 2013 Post-ops
I am officially part of the slow losers! I'm also in the three week stall. Seriously don't know how stalls are possible on 600 cal/day! The good thing is that I can't throw my diet to the wind like I would before on a stall. Glad to finally have a BM. How stupid is that? LOL! It seems like I go from one issue to another. Now I'm having a lot of pain in my lower left side, especially when bending over and getting up and down. I guess I might have over done it. Emailed the doctor's office and they told me to come in if it gets worse. Ready to feel better!!

Sorry for this being TMI, but how long have you gone between BMs? I've gained almost three pounds and haven't had a BM since....Sunday? I have 5g of fiber in my water 2x a day.

OMG October 2013 Post-ops
After I woke up yesterday, I had a huge amount of energy. I actually went to three different stores; mostly for last minute Halloween stuff. I paid for it last night, though. My lower left incision started bothering me (at the drain site). Took a few Tylenol and back to normal today. I went to Kroger, Walmart and Target looking for Kellogg's Protein Water mixes and couldn't find them. Ended up getting them at Amazon. Still working hard at getting protein in (60g). The thought of shakes makes me gag. I ordered some nectar Crystal Sky and am so happy that I did!!! The fruity taste is great. If you are tired of the shakes, try some of it. Haven't had a BM in two days and trying so hard not to worry. It has made me gain 2 lbs!!! I guess I'm just waiting for something to go wrong (yes, I'm a negative nancy!). I'm back on my fitness pal and averaging 600 cal/day. So, I know that the calories aren't causing a gain. Just trying to hang in there!

OMG October 2013 Post-ops
Tomorrow I will be 2 weeks post op. I hit my first depression today. I'm not sure if it is the sleep apnea, or the surgery, but I was so exhausted that I slept most of Saturday. Then, today I went to the grocery store and was really tired from doing that. It seems like I am more tired now than last week and that totally sucks. I know it is just the hormones, but I'm down because of this lack of energy and worried that something might be wrong and I don't know it. Like I said, I know it's the hormones and just trying to ride out the storm.

OMG October 2013 Post-ops
For all of you in the hospital, hang in there! For me, I didn't get any rest until I was back at home and missed my husband helping me out. Good luck and hope you are all feeling better quickly.

Wellesse Protein Product?
I'm only a little over a week post op, but looking to make sure I get all my Protein requirements in. I'm already getting a little tired of Protein shakes. I found wellesse through web surfing and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with it. It has 10 g of protein per 1 oz serving. Seems like it might be an easier way to get all the protein in. Would love to hear any opinions about it or any other protein supplements besides Bariatric Advantage and powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. http://www.wellesse.com/our-supplements/protein/

4 days post surgery!
Some surgeons leave in a drain at the lower left incision. I'm finding it harder to find stuff to eat. Guess I'm too lazy to blend anything! I had cream of potato soup today and it was pretty easy. Also got some pudding in but feel guilty about it! I'm going to try tuna with fat free mayo tomorrow.

4 days post surgery!
I was until yesterday. I had my first appointment with my surgeon and had my drain removed. Since I was doing okay on liquids, they have moved me onto pureed. Still kind of scared to eat new stuff, and still trying to get protein shakes in. I need to go to the store for some unflavored greek yogurt and try that with protein powder mixed in. How are things on your end?

Any October surgeries out there...
Just remember that it is much better after a week and after you get out of the hospital. Seeing the scale move will make it worthwhile.

Hope you are doing okay! Hang in there! It gets so much better after the hospital - especially about a week out.- OMG October 2013 Post-ops
It does sound like dumping. I had my first 'dump' the day after I was home from the hospital. I had a- OMG October 2013 Post-ops
I've been having upper back pain. Do you think it's gas?- OMG October 2013 Post-ops
I know there is a September post op group. You should prob check there.- cymbalta after surgery
This might be too late to mention, but I am also on cymbalta. I was told to take the capsule whole because of the time release. The outer coating dissolves so that the medicine is dispensed slowly. However, if you open the capsule and take the "beads" at one time, you get the dose all at once which can be dangerous.- OMG October 2013 Post-ops
Duh! (smacks forehead). Don't know why I didn't think of that!! Thanks a lot Molly!- OMG October 2013 Post-ops
I'm supposed to go to a concert tomorrow. My husband bought the tickets a long time ago but I'm worried about being able to walk from the parking lot all the way to the seat at 5 days post op. What do you guys think?- 4 days post surgery!
We are surgery buddies! I am also 4 days post op. I'm having trouble getting comfortable in bed, too, but a lot better than in the hospital. My solution so far is sleeping with two pillows. It raises my chest slightly and it seems to help. Good luck!- Any October surgeries out there...
I've been back home for a couple of days now, and starting to feel better. The hospital sucks! They make you wear compression sleeves on your legs and I couldn't put them on or take them off by myself and hated calling for the nurses for everything. I had back pain which I think was the gas but made it hard to sleep. Then, they wake you up every couple of hours. I totally crashed the first day home and just slept. My girls asked me why I got surgery when it just makes me sleep all the time! I know that everything they do there is to make sure you are okay to come home, but it was depressing for me. Wished my husband stayed at the hospital, but he had to take care of the kids, and it was way too uncomfortable to sleep there. I had buyers remorse until coming home. Sorry for the rant! Things get a lot better as the days go on.- Any October surgeries out there...
I came back from the hospital 4 lbs heavier! Still waiting to see the scale move a little. I told my husband that I wish I could just sleep until everything was healed and I was back 100%. Right there with ya! - OMG October 2013 Post-ops
