  1. We are surgery buddies! I don't have to be there until 10:45 am though. I would have rather gotten it done earlier. Prayers your way.
  2. I have about an hour before leaving for the hospital and my surgery. I was doing okay until my oldest daughter (9) asked me why I had to go. Anyhow, pray for me and the surgeon today. I'll let you guys now how it goes. Already really thirsty and so not looking forward to the gas pains that everyone talks about.
  3. I'm leaving for the hospital in an hour for my surgery. Damn those nerves! Just hope I won't be a baby. Also, I am so thirsty already! Darn those no liquids after midnight!!
  4. I agree with your last two sentences! I have always felt that pregnancy was nine months just to get you used to the idea of a baby and all the changes you go through. I think the same thing about wls. I started my process at the end of May, hoping to be done in the summer while the kids were out of school. That didn't happen due to insurance and surgeon requirements and my surgery is in two days. Still really nervous about having my insides all messed about, but def. more mentally prepared than back then.
  5. Hope that you get well soon so you can go home!
  6. Today I got all my pre-op appointments done but still seems unreal. My mom is still trying to talk me out of it. Like I'm not worried enough on my own. I know she means well though. Ugh, signing all those forms at the hospital about possible complications! Just wish it only impacted me, and not my kids. I know this is the right thing to do, but feel a little selfish too, thinking how it will impact them if something goes wrong.
  7. When is your new surgery date? That totally sucks that you have to keep on liquids. Hope you get it soon.
  8. I just got a call yesterday to schedule my surgery. I thought I would have to do a 2 week liquid diet and I figured that the earliest I would be scheduled would be the 24th. I also thought I might have to go to the November group. Talked to the scheduler today and found out that I'm doing my surgery on Tuesday, Oct 15th. What? Turns out that I don't have to do the 2 week diet. I'm still in shock that I'll have the surgery so soon. I have my pre-op appointments tomorrow and will find out more. Who else is having it on the 15th? I would love to go through this together!
  9. Hope that you start feeling better soon!
  10. I was on last week and worried about the stress test but came back normal. I was worried b/c of being diagnosed with sleep apnea - which is good cause I needed the co-morbidity. Just got the news that insurance approved me today. Still doesn't seem real. Still waiting on my surgery date. I hope it will still be in Oct. because this is a great group.
  11. Hope that everyone that started on the liquid diet is doing good. I heard that the first three days are the worst. Time sure is going slow while waiting for insurance. Anyone have any troubles with the stress test?

  13. I have to wait 3-5 days to hear from my insurance and the results of my stress test. Part of me feels like it just won't happen. Anyone else felt that way? I'm hoping to be sometime after Oct. 15th. I just found out my son's best friend's mom had rny last June and is very happy that she did. I have to do a two week liquid diet if I get the go ahead. Not looking forward to that! Any books that you guys recommend for rny?
  14. Newbie here, although I have been lurking for a while. I don't have a date yet, but everything was submitted to the insurance today. I had my stress test and I am worried about the results.
