On day six of my two week liquid diet. 8 more days this is really going to happen :-)

I was banded on November 11th

This is my introduction:

I'm DVGUY and my date on the table is set for Tuesday 11/19. I considered this surgery 5 years ago but in the 6 month dr supervised diet I got real serious and lost 80 pounds, no longer qualifying. I worked my butt off and seriously dieted to lose the weight. Of course, I burned out and the weight came right back.

Today my knees are no longer allowing me to do the kind of exercising I once did and I haven't been able to kick myself onto another long program to try to get this off again. In January of this year I decided to look again at surgery. Since then I only lost around 20 lbs in order to disqualify myself from insurance rules.

I ready to begin this process again and looking to the WLS to be the tool I need to do this at a more moderate pace that can be sustainable for the rest of my life.

I'm glad I have found this web site and look forward to sharing and learning from all of you. I wish you all well on your efforts and I'll update you on my progress.

So will I good luck guys!!!

We'll went in for my RNY last Wednesday they were unable to do it due to my anatomy so now I have a nice new sleeve. He did say after loosing weight if I stall he can change it to rny.

I'm sitting here with my iv in waiting to get the ball rolling. Can't believe it's already time!

i was banded 11/15/13.. im very happy that i made the choice to have the surgery and im very anxious to fully recover so that I can really start my weight loss journey! good luck to everyone! :)

I'm back home from my surgery on Tuesday. Tuesday was very tough but on Wednesday I began to feel better. Thursday I went home and today, Saturday, I'm doing pretty well. I was prescribed Roxicet for pain (5ml to 10ml) every four hours. I'm taking a couple times during the day (5ml) and at bedtime. It is really wonderful stuff and I feel clear headed and good while taking.

I started Protein shakes today. I have to limit my food to Protein Shakes and liquids until the Monday after Thanksgiving. I'm really not hungry but I find the shakes boring and looking forward to something warm and savory (maybe puréed soup).

Belching and passing gas, with lots of gurgling in the belly is frequent for me now. If I try to help around the house, I tired very quickly, like in ten minutes.

I have got to say the experience at the Hospital was really good (pain excluded). The nurses were great and took very good care of me. They were very attentive and seemed to really care about making me comfortable and encouraging me.

I'm off to a good start. My wife is fantastic support and a great caregiver. My kids and their families are coming up for Thanksgiving. All are supportive (only told the kids a few days before surgery about my plans) and I'm looking forward to seeing them this week.

Hope all is going well for my other November surgery mates and please let me know how you are doing and any tips you may have to share.

Best regards and Happy Thanksgiving.

I also had surgery on Tuesday but I was home Wednesday night. I'm struggling to get my protein in. I went home on the puréed diet an I'm finding it hard to eat anything but yo plait light Greek yogurt. Water and milk have not been a problem for me. I still can't sleep laying down so I sleep sitting up on the couch

Wow, only one night in the hospital. I'm glad to hear your Dr. allows puréed already. Jealous of your choices available and hope you can enjoy them soon.

I'm sleeping in bed but struggling to roll on my side.

Good luck.

Thanks I'm jealous of you being able to sleep in a bed lol!!! Thanks the purée diet is ok. My doctor doesn't allow protein shakes so I'm really struggling to get protein in

I had surgery November 5th. I've lost about 21-22 lbs as of this morning. I had surgery on Tuesday went to work on Friday. No problems until the last few days. I'm battling constipation and can hardly get anything down. I'm better now but wow I was do scared!!!

Mine was on November 6, 2013 and I am already down 27 pounds.
