  1. Dr. Wallace was my surgeon it was my 1 year anniversary on 11/19. He is excellent and by the book. I've had no complications thus far and being that he started the program at Froedtert it gave me even more confidence in his abilities. I'd say you are in very good hands.
  2. I also had surgery on 11/19
  3. Hey Nikki I had the surgery for the exact same reasons but I was 229 pounds I had the surgery on November 19. I only went home testing my blood sugar and on my blood pressure medicine. I can truly say it was worth it. No complications so far thank God!!!!

  17. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes four years ago with an a1c of 15. The doctor told me that it was the highest she had ever worked with. With diabetes came the high blood pressure, high cholesterol and acid reflux. I was started on insulin right away and hated it. I was able to come off the insulin in 6 months and was happy. This last year has been a struggle. I'm back on insulin with an a1c of 13. My doctors told me that I would be a very sick women if I don't get this under control. There starts my journey into wls. I started at 240 pounds and am now at 228. While losing the weight will be great losing the disease will be better. I believe that God is working in my favor. I had my last weigh in 9/20/13. I was approved and had my surgery date on 9/24/13. Now my surgery is scheduled for 11/19/13 and I can't be more excited and scared at the same time. Thanks for listening and letting me talk about it.
  18. I have this super cool app on my phone and it says I have 43 days 11 hours and 40 minutes until my surgery lol!!! I'm trying to get everything ready for that day. I hope I don't have complications or at least a very few.
