My Story

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes four years ago with an a1c of 15. The doctor told me that it was the highest she had ever worked with. With diabetes came the high blood pressure, high cholesterol and acid reflux. I was started on insulin right away and hated it. I was able to come off the insulin in 6 months and was happy. This last year has been a struggle. I'm back on insulin with an a1c of 13. My doctors told me that I would be a very sick women if I don't get this under control. There starts my journey into wls. I started at 240 pounds and am now at 228. While losing the weight will be great losing the disease will be better. I believe that God is working in my favor. I had my last weigh in 9/20/13. I was approved and had my surgery date on 9/24/13. Now my surgery is scheduled for 11/19/13 and I can't be more excited and scared at the same time. Thanks for listening and letting me talk about it.
