I do not have the technical answer for that, sorry. My non-technical reply is proceed with caution. If you'll be doing things that your MD says you need to off for and your employer finds out, there might be an issue. If you're driving to aunt Mables wedding and not really doing much, it's one thing. If you're flying to Italy and hiking in the mountains, it's another....

Watch out....fmla means you're off work for medical reasons. A vacation could mess things up.

I felt guilty being home on FMLA because aside from an allergic rash I felt pretty good. I don't know if there would be any repercussions if anyone found out you went on a vacation. At the very least it might seem... unethical maybe?

I work in hr and do fmla paperwork, we have lots of employees that go on vacation to recuperate after surgery. it was even suggested to me when I was out in february to visit my sister in fl for the 4 weeks
