June surgeries!

Hey all! I looked around and couldn't find anything for June surgeries. I don't have my exact date yet, but it will be the 1st or 2nd week of June!! Sooo excited!! I had my lap band out on April 18th and they were supposed to do the bypass, but they weren't able to due to scar tissue. I saw my surgeon today and all should be a go for June! Yay!!!! RNY here I come!!!

I wish I knew if I was feeling normal and that my progress was on track with people who are 3 days out from surgery. Maybe the 4th day will be better. Surgery was Wed.

Thanks! I had my crying spell the day after surgery. Going from iv meds to oral was a BEOTCH!!! Today was just blah. It's like they still in ur heads to get this much fluid in and I promise it has to be impossible. But I feel like if I don't then I will instantly drop to the floor from dehydration. LOL. And then I've been sleepy and I think that's it - not enough liquids. HOWEVER, I am thankful for several things bc I do know it could be much, much worse. Waiting for that week mark - bc I feel like then things will be more normal feeling. How much r u drinking a day now?

I think I'm about to liquify...all these darn liquids are getting on my nerves! I caved today and had a salad...at least it wasn't a cheeseburger or anything' date=' but I felt so weak. I'll be so glad when hunger is no longer an issue. Just a few more days now...[/quote']

I had surgery wednesday and have not felt hungry yet... it's amazing how you can go from starving to not caring about eating at all.... good luck you're almost there!

Good morning surgery buddies....day 6 and everything is normal besides the tugging and aching at drain port. Thank God that is coming out tomorrow. I'm trying to get as much liquids in. I did about 30 ounces, plus factor in soup, pop sicles and jello so maybe a little more. My pouch doesn't like protein shakes. I need to figure out a way to get it in.

This may be TMI' date=' but I am curious. So, I am doing really well. Better than I could ever expect. I am getting in lots of fluid and protein. I started having gas a couple of days ago, but no bowel movement yet. Should I be concerned? I keep thinking there is really nothing in there to come out. :) Sorry for being so open. I tend to have no filter on my conversations.[/quote']

At this point, there's no such thing is "TMI" lol, all information goes along with recovery and its ok to inform us. I've heard many people say they didn't have a bowl movement the first few days or so, I read it was ok to take a supository.

They're letting me bust out of here today. My doctor thinks the spitting up is just swelling or spasms and will go away. I feel great other than when I get stuck like that. He doesn't seem too worried so maybe I need to just calm down and do my best and just get in what I can.

I'm almost embarrassed to say... But I have been around 20 oz. a day. I am determined to do 48 oz. today. Just no energy and down on myself. My family is eating, shopping and having fun and I'm just...here. My motivation song now is Marvin Sapp's My Testimony. I listen to it several times a day.

Anyone else who is post op have a sharp pain on their left side near the rib cage? I have been having this on and off since yesterday. I am feeling great otherwise, and I don't want to panic that it is anything major, but on the other hand... I want to stay on top of it.

Keep praying and receiving ministry of encouragement through songs and prayers, it will help you get stronger, remember God didn't bring you to this point to leave you. Be Blessed.

I know you're happy the drain comes out tomorrow! I have to wait til Wednesday, UGH! I've been getting down about 20 oz. a day. My mom mixed protein powder in my jello and pudding. But I've only had about an oz. each day. My husband and 4 year old ordered pizza last night ( my weakness) but it didn't bother me. So that's a plus! Also, I used your idea about the crystal light Popsicles. They are DELISH!!! Thanks a bunch :)

My goals for today:

Try to get 48oz in. Yesterday I was at about 36.

Have at least 2 protein shakes.

I'm not even worried about protein at this point. I'd be happy if I can just keep down half of what I'm putting in. Such a shame because I feel so good otherwise. Hardly even have needed any pain medicine.

I didn't go until I was out of the hospital for 2 days. After a ton of walking and sitting on my hands and knees on the floor while rolling my hips, I finally went last night. *TMI warning* it was pure liquid. Liquid in= liquid out. It felt so good though! Like I have been endlessly puffing up and finally popped the balloon! Haha
