Vitamins... Yuck!

Any clarity here about capsules vs chewables? The chewable version really make me gag, so I'm worried about being able to stick with it! Any advice would be great!!!

You need to find a vitamin that you can tolerate and stick with to stay healthy. I had a coworker stop taking her vitamins, she became very deficient and her hair fell out. I use the chewable vit. C from bariatric advantage. They are still slightly bitter to me but I decided to take those instead of chews because I wouldn't have to take as many times a day. I use a sublingual b-12 and a capsule b-1. I take Cerovite Jr. chewable vitamins and those aren't bad. I have heard people say that the chewable calcium from bariatric advantage are good. I would try those. My program actually had us test all the vitamins during the seminar so we knew what we were getting into since Vitamins are a must!! Good Luck

I say ask your doctor. Mine really really requests that you stick with bariatric chewables for at least the first couple of years. I have tried Celebrate and Bariatric Advantage and for the multi I really like Celebrate better than Bariatric, but there are lots of favors and I haven't tried them all yet. I also take the calcium chewy bites because they remind me of starburst, but I have to take 2 at a time because of the dosage. I agree that you have to find one that works for you.

I am taking Bariatric Advantage vitamins.. The b-12, iron, multi and calcium. I hate the calcium and multi vitamin and they are huge!!! The calcium is very tangy but them chalky and the multi is very bitter. Every morning I try taking all my vitamins at once with my other pills and also try to take my evening pills all at once. Usually it make me feel sick after and I have to lay down for 10 min till the sickness goes away. But tonight I tried taking them and washing it down with a protein shake. I took a few sips but my pills that I have to break up got stuck in my throat so I drank more protein. I immediately felt really sick so I sat down, then all the sudden my new pouch started hurting so bad it hurt to breath. I started crying because the pain was unbearable! It lasted like 30 minutes then the pain went away.. I hate taking all these vitamins!!

I do the same thing. And lately instead of them hurting my tummy I'm throwing them up.

I cannot get my magnesium and iron pills down and keep them down. If I do it's terrible pain. My doc has never recommend gummies?! I'll have to ask about them.

I just ordered from celebrate I will see if there vitamins are any better

I take the Celebrate Calcium Citrate hot cocoa flavor. They're not bad. Chalky, but taste pretty good.

I hope they are better then the Bariatric Advantage ones

And I have to space them out at certain intervals so they absorb correctly. Also my doctor doesn't allow gummy Vitamins because they may not digest correctly with the pouch.

my dr. said no gummies or the chewable caramel or choc. squares. I found today that if you suck on the muti and calcium from bariatric advantage its not as bad and i dont feel sick.

Most surgeons say NO to gummies as they don't digest well. My surgeon has had patients come in post op with bad stomach problems from taking gummies and states it is like a cat with a hairball. I didn't ask anymore because that alone made me cringe.
