Dumping Syndrome from drinking too quickly?

I never imagined this could be an issue. I drank 16 oz of water in a hour (trying to meet my 80 oz goal). The only thing I had with it was my vitamins. Within minutes of swallowing my last vitamin I was doubled over in the bathroom. And I know its TMI but what came out the other side was still cold. Literally all the water I just drank is gone! Anyone experience this before?

I had this with certain foods but not with liquids. I knew the second I swallowed that something was not right and I was running to the bathroom. I know how difficult it is to get all the fluids in but just sip slowly all day & night. My surgeon required that I only get 64 oz. of fluids daily. But you need to do what your surgeon is telling you to do.

LOL... you made me laugh that is was still cold coming out !!!!

Yes. If I drink too fast I will vomit and omg it will still be cold. Kinda scary. Just drink slower. It's hard to resist the urge to gulp.

Thanks for the info. My poor body feels wrecked. I will definitely be slowing down from now on. It makes no sense to get the liquid in if it comes right back out. Lol

Hope you feel better. :-)

Sorry to hear that sjane...My thoughts are it was the vitamins wreaking havoc on your pouch, not the water. I know vitamins for me on an empty stomach are a no no! Good luck!!

Yes!!!!! Drinking to fast or too much at one time has made me sick several times!!!!
