What are the necessities?

What should I pack/not pack for the hospital?

Also, what should I have on hand when I get home? I know all the Vitamins. Water isn't a problem as I work for a water company lol. I also know about the papaya enzyme. What's recommended for the acid reflux? And is there anything else I may want to have on hand?

  • Clear liquids are beef or chicken or vegetable broth. Decaf tea or coffee black or with splenda. Water and you can add SF koolaide or crystal light etc. And SF Jello. But usually you get released on

  • I think it's to help with digestion if something gets stuck.

Really? They told me I should take Prilosec or something similar. I just assumed it was for acid reflux. Why do they tell you to take it then?

I believe the Prilosec is to decrease the chance of ulcers at the beginning

I bought Papaya Enzymes today at Walmart $3.97 I could believe how quick they worked I've been on pre op diet some first of Jan my stomach has been giggling like crazy and very louse stool took them with my protein shake and haven't heard my stomach growl since they are great

Your dr will tell you if you need to take it, an antacid. Or ask him/her about it.

Do you use milk in your Protein Shake? I found that I became lactose intolerant after surgery. Try using lactose free milk fat free with your shakes. Dirhea goes away.
