How do you know what your ideal weight should be?

My surgeon never gave me a number as my goal weight. I just picked a weight at where I once felt the most healthy in my life...

My surgeon asked my goal, to which, I too, choose one that I had felt the most healthy in the past. According to insurance standards of BMI, my height would indicate a weight of 109-119, The lowest I have ever been was 124 and had ribs sticking out, sickly looking. I felt the best at 130, so that is my current goal. I say current because that weight was when I was 16years old, thats 18 years and 3 kids ago, so more than likely I will sit closer to 140-145 :-)

My Dr ask me also, my weight should be 110-120lbs, I told him i was once 130/140 and I FELT GREAT i wore a size 7/8-9/10 thats what I want to be again!! thats when I got married, 2 kids and eating my highest weight was 250 then gull stones came to play I went down to 220 had surgery to remove (thankful I didn't gain that 30lbs) back.
