January Dates

I am starting this so all of us who are beginning 2013 in a big way can share stories, advice and experiences.

My surgery date is 1/21/13 and this has been a year long journey for me. I began last December with a physical and my Dr. and I decided it was time. I had to go through 6 months of weigh-ins and visits with the nutritionist before I was even allowed to see the surgeon. I finally met him in July and then was given a whole new list of tests and appointments that needed to be done. My insurance finally approved me earlier this month, but only for surgery after January 1, so January 21st it is.

I am so excited to start this journey and thank you all in advance for sharing your experiences here!

Best thing you can do for the gas is walk' date=' walk, walk! When my sister had her surgery, she told me the walking was the only way she could relieve that feeling![/quote']

Walking does relieve the gas. All I had to is stand up and I started burping. That was my main way of passing it. However after I was home, I never got up in the middle of the night to walk.

Congrats!!!!

This liquid diet stinks : / I still have another whole week to go. I'm reading alot of ur posts which helps tremendously!! I'm not in the least bit scared, medical knowledge helps I suppose but a few things I'm not excited about....mostly the catheter : / Wish me luck w/ this liquid diet this last week PLZ!! To all having ur Sx this wk my thoughts are w/ u : )

I'm on day 6 if the liquid diet. It seemed near impossible days 1-4, but day 5 and 6 seem to be better and less stomach growling. It sucks though...I had to avoid going to a family party today. I just can't allow myself to be in situations where I might be triggered to cheat. It's not worth it. It does suck though seeing everyone eat around you. I think at this stage, I would literally KILL for a cheeseburger! Lol

It sounds like we are in the same boat. when is ur Sx date? I'm avoiding stuff too...And I have 2 rough days ahead of me at wk : / My attitude is not the best, I feel like I have a BAD case of PMS!!

Hi everyone feel the same way nervous excited . I have to be at the hospital 6:30 am . Good luck to everyone. I have to say I love this forum.

My stomach doesn't handle the shakes well lol. My date is January 15th, the day after you! Hang in there. Right now I feel very depressed.

Good luck to everyone having surgery this week!

Reading smut book today has helped to take my mind off this!! Yes, I'm reading the trilogy....& I refuse to admit that in court : )
