Ok everyone since we are getting close to December I figured I would go ahead and start us up a post op thread

I guess I am in denial about this I don't feel anything different other than the pain I am feeling under my rib cage. I know I should at least feel a little different right? I also have an incision that is completely infected and on powerful antibiotics. It just seems surreal I guess. Should I have had a BM by now?

I don't feel any different either other than not being hungry at all & slight pain from the incisions. I haven't had a BM yet either. S/w my nurse yesterday who said this is normal. She sad to expect a BM 2-3 days after starting on puréed foods.

I don't remember who it was (sorry!!) but to the person that was worried about having the hiccups after surgery, I just read in my info book from my dr that you should call the dr if it lasts for more than 2 hours. Hope they've gone away and all is well now!

Hello Decembers!

My surgery is tomorrow, Monday 12/10. Nervous, scared and really excited now! I can't wait to be official postop! Also excited to read about all of you and your experiences!

My info says my doc is Stahl, which for some reason it is not allowing me to change. My doctor is Dr. R Drew.

Surgery tomorrow....Just drank the Magnesium Citrate that the doctor told me to drink...yuck! For those who have to do the same, word of advance.....don't stop drinking it until gone, don't do breaks between, just drink it fast all at once if possible since it is not a pleasant after taste, lol. I had the cherry flavor. Getting anxious now!!! In 18 hours I will be in surgery!

Boy, that pain in the upper left ribcage feels as though I was stomped on. Very tender and sore to move. Still some incisional leakage this morning but better. Nothing is infected.....just keep pushing forward.

Sounds like we are all limping along but everyday is a little better. Small baby steps.....

Doing well with diet and everything else. Best wishes to everyone else on their own personal road to recovery. Each one will be different so don't get discouraged! Hang in there!

Oh and sending well wishes to those who undergo their surgery, tomorrow on the 10th, too. Will be thinking, praying and hoping we hear back from you soon.

My turn is 12/29!! Can't wait to join you all on the post op side good luck to the 12/10 bunch!!
