Spiking is an old diet trick. You add calories one day and go lighter the next. If you eat 600 calories a day, for example, your body gets used to it. Try 700 one day and 500 the next.

day 1 post op, and I am so alive!!! Just had "Dinner" of chicken broth and a spoonful of yogurt. doing awesomely. shoulder pain from the gas, but its ok with the heat pack on it. been to the toilet, had visitors, just generally awesome! I am glad I get another night in hospital though, the moving bed helps heaps. Much love to all my loser sisters and brothers.

Great job everyone. This month was our month however some of us had eventful surgeries or after math. You are all in my prayers and hope everyone continues to do great. Whoop whoop November we did it. It has been a pleasure to have you all here supporting each other and myself in the time of need or question. Keep it up losers . Actually glad to be called that since its all official and the journey has begun. Again great job keep it up

Hey everyone,

I had surgery on Wednesday 28th november and today I am still am in the hospital. Looks like I will be getting a blood transfusion in a few hours. My recovery has been horrible, however God brought me through it so I can't help but to believe things will get better.... Will posts the events of my surgery later. Just letting everyone know, I am alive.

Shemmy: I'm so sorry to hear that! Mine was a but rough too. Prayers for you and keep us posted.

I'm so sorry you had such complications... get well soon.. looking forward to a good update

Ok so I'm post op 5 days and I'm on clear liquids for 2 weeks.

Im focusing on my Protein Shakes since I really dont want to get weak/lose my hair etc. Im trying to get as close to the 80-100g of protein a day but so far the most I can intake is two 8oz protein drinks which have 23g of protein each. Im taking Nectar. I rarely drink water by itself. I want to make a every sip count and since I can barely drink 16oz of liquids I'm not even adding broth, jellos or popsicles...

But Im afraid im gonna get dehydrated if I don't drink more... has anyone had this problem???

First week I wasn't really focused on protein mainly fluids. I'm almost two weeks out now and I'm up to about 60 grams a day but that's a struggle. The fluids have been ok since I am mainly on protein drinks. No other way to hit that number. Hang in there.
