So I have a stuffy/ runny nose with a headache and starting a bit of a sore throat. I have to get bloodwork Tuesday if my cold shows in my blood work like an elevated white blood cell count would they postpone my surgery?

I would think you'd be ok as long as it doesn't sit in your lungs but, you could probably call your surgeon and ask the what if I have a head cold question :)

Make sure you tell the surgeon. Last thing you want is complications during or after your surgery. It is better to wait a few days then get really sick. You might call your pcp and start on some antibiotics now.

Music 1618 makes a great point. No need inviting complications. Watch out not to take medicines with aspirin in them, though, as you shouldn't have aspirin products right before your surgery. Good luck and feel better!

Thanks for the advice!

Start taking zicam! I got a cold the week before and this cut the duration in half and had my surgery in time.

I always load up on Vitamin C crystals and Eccinacea the day I start feeling sick. I can typically ward off a full-blown cold and not get any worse than the first day. You have 7 days. You can beat this!!

Thanks I'll have to contract my Dr. And see if I'm allowed any of that because I have one week to surgery they want me not to take herbal supplements or medication other than Tylenol. I really appreciate all your well wishes. I hope you all have great success and stay well on your journey too!

Hello How are you feeling? What did your doctor say about your cold?

Just got back from the pcp. He said that my cold is almost gone and that I am good to go for surgery. So I have my clearence yay ! Thanks for asking. I am so excited for my surgery. I am obviously happy that it didn't interfere. I have my last pre op appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. Still don't know if I have to have a bowel cleanse. I'm glad that things are moving along. Positive vibes to you all!

So glad to hear you're doing better and that you get to keep your surgery date!! Thankfully, I don't have to do a bowel cleanse. Wow, we have 3 more days and a wake up!!
