Yes they told me to use the heating pad and don't be afraid to take any pain meds they gave you. It will subside after a few days and you won't need either.

I'm a little over two weeks out and today my side where the largest incision was hurt more than ever, I used my pain meds I haven't used since I came from hospital and that helps a lot.
