Seafood

How long should I wait or how long did you wait before trying seafood?

God before anything, Family before anyone, Home before anywhere. Priority..

  • About ten seconds after I got the OK to eat real food! LOL! Once you're cleared for solid foods, you really can't go wrong with anything that swims. Loaded with protein, low fat, low carb, low calorie

My nutritionist had plan on what I could have and when. It was 4 weeks post op I could have seafood. Only 2oz of course. Then a week later I could have chicken and turkey. And a week later lean beef and pork.

The first two weeks were liquids. ( shakes, Soups, anything you could fit through a straw- not using a straw but that size chunks). Then soft foods such as eggs, Beans, cottage cheese, yogurt, etc for 2 weeks.

About ten seconds after I got the OK to eat real food! LOL! Once you're cleared for solid foods, you really can't go wrong with anything that swims. Loaded with protein, low fat, low carb, low calorie. I practically live on tuna, shrimp, tilapia, cod, scallops - all great!!

That's good to know! I love seafood and I'm clear for regular foods 5 weeks out.. Only 3 more to go!

My first puréed food was a breadless crab cake in the food processor!
