Fill Poll

I'm getting my 4th fill tomorrow, and my doc has never pulled fluid out to see what's still in the band. I'd like to know if that's commonly done???

My fill doc always does it... this way she can see if there is a leak.. its always the same amount as she had put in before.

I had my 5th fill last Tuesday...I was at 8cc's and when he pulled out the fluid there was 7cc's that only came out. He said some can evaporate. He put me back to 8cc's. He always aspirates what is in there first and then puts it back in with whatever else he's adding.

Yep, my doctor always takes all the fill out first to make sure the amount that is supposed to be in there is in there and verify I am not leaking or anything.

I've had a total of 4 fills. Obviously there was nothing to pull out the first fill but the 2nd and 3rd he did. On the 4th, the nurse said she didn't need to take it out and just added. Since I feel more restriction, I guess it's OK. If ever in doubt though, you should ask your doctor why he does/doesn't.

I had my surgery on 3/4/08---I have lost 32 lbs (is this slow or what!!!...4th fill dr put too much in--had to have some removed--he removed too much--I was doing great but now I am afraid I will be overeating again..
