It's rare not to experience it and it varies in how much loss occurs. Mine started right at 3 months out. It should taper off by about 6 months out.

Okay...I wonder if taking vitamin E helps with it?

I take vitamin E (along with a ton of other vitamins) and 1,000 mcg of Biotin. I also use biotin infused shampoo and conditioner by Organix. I also got in 60-80 grams of protein daily since surgery. So far nothing has stopped the shedding but it's not getting any worse so I can live with it (as long as I don't look at my hairbrush too often!).

I'm six months out and have been dealing with hair loss for the past 1 1/2 months or so. I take biotin as well and my protein is thru the roof so docs not sure why happening so much. One thought is that hormones may be a bit out of whack due to weight loss.

Wanting to follow as well. My hair has thinned out so bad I dont even wear it down anymore

I'm four months out and have been losing a lot of hair since about a month ago. Fortunately I have thick hair, but if this keeps up for too long I don't know what will happen. I just saw my endocronologist a few days ago and she is also a nutritionist and she told me not to waste the time taking the Biotin because it won't really help with the loss. She said it was the bodies response to the trauma of surgery, anesthesia, weight loss, etc. and everyone responds differently. I had been taking it everyday with no results.

Well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see
