    DC/MD/VA sleevers

I can't do Sunday this week but am in Montg Cty and would be interested in what you're doing! I'm concerned about FB because I haven't told many about the procedure (I was sleeved in March) and don't want to now
  2. Every time I eat my abdomen area juts out...I look like I'm pregnant even though just before eating my abdomen was flat as a pancake! Anyone else experience this? It happens all of the time!
  3. I take it every night and couldn't get it down. I cut it in half and my doc said to take it with a little food for best absorption.

    Hair loss?

I'm six months out and have been dealing with hair loss for the past 1 1/2 months or so. I take biotin as well and my protein is thru the roof so docs not sure why happening so much. One thought is that hormones may be a bit out of whack due to weight loss.

    My hair!

I know I've seen posts related to hair loss before. I've not changed my eating habits (I.e., my protein intake is perfect) and I've been taking my vitamins and even 500 g biotin daily. I'm a little over 5months post-op....anyone dealt with this? My hair is falling out a lot and very thin on my head:-(

    craving sweets

This has been interesting for me too. I'm about 5 months out and NEVER had a sweet tooth. My cravings were for salty foods and I couldn't get enough. Now though I seem to be having sweet cravings. Luckily it seems to be for things like fruity frozen yogurt, which I load with fruit and almonds only, but it is odd. When I want chocolate, I seem to do ok with sugar free ones.
  7. So my NUT has made it clear that I can drink liquids up until the time I eat a meal. BUT there is no drinking at all until at least 30 min after a meal. What do you guys do when it comes to snacks though, especially with the need to get all that protein in? I sometimes get extremely thirsty after eating, but when I drink something, then there is pain.

    Drinking & eating & eating & drinking

Thank you all so much! I have adopted the 15-20-30 rule...will see how it goes

HELP! Why am I so itchy?

What section in Costco do you find the seaweed?

    Eathibg slower and smaller bites

This is the absolute hardest thing I've dealt with since my surgery....you will see post op that you will have pain and gas when you eat too fast. Docs told me about this but it's ultra hard to prepare and, for me at least, it's been very difficult to adjust even though I know what I know. I had posted a link to some diet utensils that my surgeon had asked me to get...if you can't find it I can repost for you. Good luck...this part is a challenge but all in all the rewards are worth it!
  11. I am now close to two months out. I get to a point where I'm comfortable...no grumbling, no gas, no pain...then, for some reason, I feel like I need to eat something else and it takes me right over the edge then...pain and sometimes vomiting. Has anyone had a similar experience?
  12. We should be loving that we are not as hungry and can't put down as much food. In my case I feel like I'm sabotaging myself! I have already starting ordering appetizers or just getting a box off the bat since a full meal ends up being 2 additional lunches for me. And the eating slowly... If anyone ever asked me what was hardest about this surgery...THAT is it. How many calories are you guys taking in a day?
  13. Same here...it always happens at dinner. I'm with the family then where I'm generally alone for other meals. Makes me so mad at myself! But Mickeydies is right, we didn't get surgery on our brain and eyes. It's so frustrating because I know what's gonna happen and I know it's not gonna feel good at all! UGH! You guys must be way better off than me if you are not actually vomiting...that's good!

    When can we drink soda

I was told by all docs, nut, counselor...carbonation is off limits for life

    March sleevers.. Progress?

I'm about 6 weeks out too. I have tried not to focus too much on the actual pounds and instead on how I feel and how my clothes fit. Definitely losing lots of inches and all docs have said losing the pounds slowly is better than in large fell swoops. My hardest adjustments are and have been eating slowly and figuring out when I need to stop eating.
  16. I can't begin to tell everyone how many brands of vitamins and calcium citrate I have tried (GNC, bariatric adv, centrum and flinstone kids, wellese liquid)...And I still can't keep them down! I don't think I can move to gummies or chews considering I'm only about 1 month out. I'm doing great on protein and b12...what do I do to get these darn vitamins and calcium in?

I just can't get them down!

Ok... Thx everyone...will give these a try.

    Stitches?

So I am a little over a month out. I noticed a light stringy thing (looks like fish line) coming out of one of my incisions. They have been healing great and there has been little pain around the incisions but has anyone else had this???

    Stitches?

Ok thx. That helps...I was nervous that I was on my way to a leak. Thank you!

    Not feeling full

Phew! I feel better. Yeah I started up my fitness pal app today to start tracking better. Thank you all!

    Not feeling full

I've been eating the retried beans, been having chunkier soups like chili which I chew a lot. Have small pieces of grilled or baked chicken (1/3 of a thin cutlet) which I cut up and grind with my fork with veggies. Nonfat Greek yogurt with fruit mixed in since I can't do raw fruit well. Egg whites with cheese and baked white fish that flakes. I've had 1/4 of a crab cake though when going out with the FAM but stay away from breads and desserts. Hummus (2 tablespoons) is another staple and lite baby bel cheeses...sound about right? Haven't really had pastas, rices or potatoes unless the are mixed with something and that's pretty much only when eating out (1-2x/week). Drink glass of skim milk every morning and then again at night

    Not feeling full

I'm really nervous about this too. I'm about 1 month out and I'm able to consume all sorts of things, albeit in much much smaller portions before I feel the "burn". I have been taking Laura's recommendation...measuring out 1/4-1/2 c portions, but that's not a "meal" is it? I'm not sure how to get the amount of protein in otherwise and I'm having a hard time with the shakes since I've never had a sweet tooth. 3 meals and 2 snacks is what I'm shooting for each day but eating much more than purée. Have I messed everything up for myself? I'm still working on the hardest thing ever... Eating slow and chewing completely.
  23. My surgeon recommended I get a set of these...thought I'd share. http://mydietdinnerware.com/
  24. Surgery completed this past Monday. A little overwhelmed by eating/ drinking/ supplementation reqs right now. Trying to follow directions but result is lots of gas. Keep moving and seem to still do best with ice cubes. Afraid to eat too much too fast. Trying to hone in on feeling full sensation but my stomach is growling! Any recommendations or thoughts on this? Not too focused on the weight loss right now...assume that will come.
  25. Thank you guys so much! I have switched to precise measuring and things are so much better. I can't believe how little I need to eat...so strange. Wow.
