Pepper?

I am probably just being paranoid, but is it okay to add pepper to my soup? I am 8 days post-op and still on a full liquid diet.

  • My docs instructions actually said to ahead and uses pieces, no need to eat bland food. Just try a little and see how your sleeve like it. Enjoy!

  • I've used all kinds of seasonings from the start. You should be fine

  • Shouldn't be an issue. If you want to verify with your nutritionist to be on the safe side.

Thanks Macy6, I needed some flavor in my life! Lol

Spices shouldn't hurt anything, but if you're concerned, try a little and see how it fits for you. I've been spicing everything--oddly the sleeve has made me crave salt really badly. So I salt the crap out of everything. I think maybe my blood pressure is actually getting too low and my body is trying to compensate or something.

yes seasoning is okay at least my Dr thought so

Thanks everyone, I think I added more than I should have (too spicy) so I will do less next time! :)

I was gonna tell you to watch out. I have become very pepper sensitive since surgery (9/10). I added what I normally do to some tomato soup.......and I threw it all away. It tasted like a bowl of pepper...Yuck!

Yeah I'm definitely noticing a sensitivity to some spices that I didn't have before. I added mustard to my boiled egg today and it was way too strong! I couldn't finish it.
