January 20, 200719 yr Good morning, I will be traveling to Toronto (TLBC ) for my surgery. They say that you have to have someone to come pick you up after surgery. What happens if you don't. Do they make you stay there longer ?
January 29, 200719 yr No they don't generally hurt. (I'm a bad person to ask.....due to some issues I had with fills but I'm not the norm). How: put saline in needle; put needle in port; plunge needle to put saline in band; pull out needle. All done. Quick and painless. (in 99% of cases...even the "odd" cases don't actually hurt; just take longer to hit the port).
January 30, 200719 yr no....good gawd, no freezing required!! These folks in the States who need freezing are wimps!!! LOL....and no numbing creme needed!!! LOL. Really....it hurts not more (even less so) than getting a needle; pulling out a splinter hurts more. and...take it from me....THIS statement coming from someone who was poked for 2 hrs looking for the port (okay, it did start to hurt but who wouldn't hurt after 50 pokes?). But that was an abnormality.....they generally get it on the first or second try.....piece of cake....2 mins tops.
January 30, 200719 yr They stretch the skin so tight, that you cannot feel the needle hardly at all. Honestly, the thought of having it done is 50x worse than having it done. The thought of having it done still freaks me out, but I could do it all day, it dosent hurt.
January 30, 200719 yr Author I guess I am just being silly with the surgery coming up so fast. Starting to panic, wait I think I have been freaking out all along ! LOL
January 30, 200719 yr I guess if someone was really worried about the pokes they could talk to thier fill Dr. and see about using an OTC creme to numb the pain. Something like Emla cream would do the job nicely. Basically put it on the skin 30 min prior to the injection. Andrew
January 30, 200719 yr Author I used that cream a few times when I had a vien done. Did'nt do much, but the cream is great for a bikini wax! LOL

January 30, 200719 yr Author oh come one Andrew, every man and I do mean every man wore a speedo in the Dominician Republic ;last year when I was there. The woman were following suit except they were topless ! I was rather over dressed LOL
January 30, 200719 yr Sorry, I meant to say refrain from the bikini wax. I have been thretening the wife that I might have to buy a speedo for the hot tub once I get skinny. Damn board shorts hold too much water & drag it into the house. Maybe I will get the Borat mankini. Anyway, how did this go from Yasmina's fill to me in a speedo?
January 30, 200719 yr I guess I am just being silly with the surgery coming up so fast. Starting to panic, wait I think I have been freaking out all along ! LOL I can relate to the panic... I feel nauseous whenever I think about the fact that it is the day after tomorrow. Apparently I am not alone with that! I also wanted to tell you that at the TLBC meeting we were told about this clear Protein drink that we can have post-op. It is called Isopure and you can get it at GNC. I picked some up today. It looks like gatorade but has something like 40g of protein and no carbs. It was pricy but they really recommended it and apparently it can be diluted. Just FYI. Anyway - good luck! Don't panic too much... just think - before either one of us knows it, we will be banded. I can't believe it.
