I'm sure it's the swelling, fluids, and gas they pumped into you. I'm 6 days post op and haven't looked at a scale!! I'm pretty addiment I'm going to wait til the dr office

I had an easier time with warm liquids at first as well. I was on Clear Liquids for a week post op and it was difficult to get much down at first. Every day got better and by 7 days I was ready for full liquids and could drink cold Water, though still slowly. 3 weeks out now and it's much easier to drink more at one time. It gets better! I wouldn't worry about the scale you could be retaining water or who knows what each of our bodies initial reactions mean!

Almost everyone gains fluid weight in the hospital. We were warned in my pre-op class that 10 pounds was normal. I was lucky & only gained 5 but it took a week for that 5 pounds to come off.
