I am getting close to my goal (5-8 lbs. to go) and Im wondering how that works out. I weight train 3 times a week, and cardio 3 times a week, and if I continue this rate, I will lose to much weight. Any suggestions?

How many calories are you averaging a day now? One you get to goal and have stayed there for a few weeks, I'd try increasing calories a small amount at a time to find your TDEE or the amount you can take in with your continued level of exercise. ( if you plan to continue it). I think most find that your loss levels out if you increase a little slowly of GOOD calories. Maybe increase your good fats/carbs a bit.

I'd add some healthy fats first: Peanut Butter, avocado, olive oil. If that doesn't cut it, add a snack after dinner. I often have Peanut Butter and graham crackers after dinner. Peanut butter is calorie dense so it doesn't take much.

I usually get in 900 to 1100 cals. but then on work out days I end up burning half of what I eat. I have even cut out diet foods and switched to regular. Its important that I keep working out because I still have a lot of toning to do (thankfully I do not need plastics but I have to kill it in the gym).

I think that is all good advice, but I have to say I am a little envious... I fought for every .1 of a pound to get to goal. I had NO trouble stopping losing!

Uh, me too! I Certainly didn't worry about losing too much! Ha!! If I'd stayed in "lose more" longer I think I could have whittled off another 10 lbs. sigh. So now I'm whittling five more hopefully.

I think you will be fine. You are watching it with an eagle's eye .. and you sound like you realize that if you lose too much, you are going to either have to eat more or scale back on the exercise. That's the two options you have: eat more or work out less. If you do this, make sure you track. My calories went up whenever I went into maintenance. Talk about a mind game! Congrats on all of your success!

I'm now 2 lbs. below my goal and would like to stop losing. I'm adding more calories, but I'm walking more cause I just love to walk! I'm also giving myself a few treats I would have never eaten before. I weigh every Saturday so we'll see next week what happens.

Congratulations! Im not really at maintinance yet, but hear adding good fats and carbs is the way to go. Nuts, avocado, olives and such....

Girl, with the miles you walk I don't think you have much to worry about. Like FYE, good fats. I like the 100 cal packs of guacamole with cut up veggies like red bell pepper and cukes! Fiber one 90 cal bars are a nice snack. 40 cal no sugar added fudge bars by Popsicle are my favorite!

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
