Fluids

Sleeved August 20th. Everything went pretty smoothly. Haven't had any problems with pain or nausea. My only trouble so far has been with extreme weakness and dizziness.

After my post-op checkup yesterday, my doctor told me that I'm not getting enough Water. Apparently the 60 oz of fluids I'm supposed to be getting daily cannot count the Protein shakes.

Honestly, I had been having great trouble up until that point even getting in two whole bottles of water a day as well as two Protein Shakes (30 oz of each), and this just seems even more impossible now. I haven't even been able to get out of bed because I am so weak. The thought of forcing down more water makes me want to cry, but I don't want to risk losing anymore fluids haha.

So, what has everyone else's post-op liquids menu been like exactly? What and how much of everything have you been drinking during the liquids phase and how long did it last for? My NUT appointment isn't until Sept 4th, so I won't find out until then what's next for me.

I was sleeved on the 26th. My doctors office makes us buy their products for pre and post op. at first that annoyed me but it is making this a lot easier to manage in the long run. I bought core Protein shakes' date=' chocolate pudding mixes, cream of chicken soup mix, and hot chocolate mix. They are all formulated with protein. I have had no trouble getting my Water in bc I always seem to feel thirsty. I have made a routine of sorts so that I get 3-4 protein supplements consumed in addition to just constantly sipping the water. We are also allowed SF Jello and SF Popsicles which are counted towards water consumption. My bottle holds 24 ounces so I'm finishing one in the morning, one before "dinner time" and then another in the evening by bedtime. I take a lot of pills and Vitamins in the am and pm which take FOREVER to swallow but I usually down about half the water bottle by the time I'm done. I also walk about three times a day including a one mile walk so I'm constantly sipping while walking. My docs office said these two or so post op weeks were going to feel like a full time job and I can agree!!! Good luck!! Hope you are feeling better!!![/quote']

When did you star your vitamins ?
