Getting this done. What is the minimal time she needs to stop smoking

      My surgeon requires that you have to quit 2 months before surgery. He does blood/urine tests during pre op testing and will NOT do surgery if ere are traces of nicotine

      That is 2 months prior to surgery, then she should wait at least another month post surgery while her stomach heals from the surgery and the incisions heal. You really don't want to mess with this su

    I smoked until 4 weeks prior to surgery. Amazingly after surgery my taste buds changed and never thought about one again or want one. I'm 3 months post op now. It's very important not to smoke post surgery because of developing stomach ulcers for at least 3 months. Good luck

    Joe that's not what I was asking I meant the time up until surgery for safety reasons she will be quitting after that some drs recommend 6-8 weeks before surgery others 3 months etc
