Hi All,

I was banded on August 31,2006 in Port Jervis by Dr. Kwon. To date I have lost 65 pounds. I had a bad attack that I thought was something getting stuck, but it turned out I needed emergency gall bladder removal. Is this common with the band? Thanks and good luck to all.

I don't know that it has anything to do with the band. I had mine removed when they did my band. Have you been or do you eat fatty foods? They can sometimes bring on an attack.

I've read of several people getting gall bladder surgery after banding. Maybe if you do a search you will find some postings.

I had mine done with the band but rapid weightloss as well as pregnancy can cause gallstones. Mine was due to pregnancy. I went ahead and got it out since I would be losing weight.

I had mine removed several years ago. A fatty dinner caused a flair up. I had a stone bigger than a golfball. I had no idea until that night. It was wild.

I had my gall bladder removed 5 years ago right after the birth of my son. I didn't have it out post lapband.

:faint: i had my gallbladder removed after having had my band 5 years and i was told it was due to rapid weight loss and is quite common with banders so i was relieved as i was sure something was wrong with my band but its fine.so i think you might hear more banders having gallbladders removed.
