new and seeking advice re removal

Hi marrakesh im am in australia and just want to let you know i think i can understand i have had my band on for 6 years and have had no problems but in my head i have had to do a lot to stop me hating the band and i am now on lexapro to relax me which is helping me to accept my band i havent told this to anyone but i have wanted my band out since it was put in as i feel so restricted so i have had all my fill out to give me a break and it has been the best thing i could have done the fill was removed when i had my gallbladder out in may and i know i need to fill but i dont want to feel restricted i am now being supper positive and looking at the weight i have lost its only 20 kg but its weight i would not have got off myself i still want to lose 15 kgs more but am not going to worry about it it has been the best thing i have done i have just got to stop thinking that its the band making me feel the way i do it just a way of me blaming it so now im trying to embrace it and not think about it and all i can say its helping im glad i didnt have it removed as i know i would have put all the weight on and some and that would have depressed me even more so maybe if you get some of your fill out and see if that helps how you feel and it is your choice as its your body i dont know if this has helped but you are not alone we all feel differently towards our band:) tanyaxx

    Gall Bladder

:faint: i had my gallbladder removed after having had my band 5 years and i was told it was due to rapid weight loss and is quite common with banders so i was relieved as i was sure something was wrong with my band but its fine.so i think you might hear more banders having gallbladders removed.

    Aussie Roll Call

hi great to hear so many of us banders here. I have had my band on for 6 years now with no problems to really speak of. I have just had all my fill out to just give me a break as i had to have gall bladder out this year. Am from queensland and now just moved to tasmania for a sea change and its really good. I to have been thinking about breast reduction but i chickened out as had appointment to see dr on tuesday as i thought it would really hurt. Have thought about t.t but again im a big chicken. will keep checking in to this site as i have found it a wealth of information and it has helped me alot as im always worried that my band is going to slip or erosion as im 6 years out :clap2: but must keep going and again great to have found this
  19. i have had my lap band on for 6 years now with very little problems and have lost 25 kgs which is great. I do stress over my band though and everytime i feel different i say its my band its slipped(my fear) but other than that it has been a success i have a lovely dr in australia (where im from ) and have always been able to talk to them about anything.I have moved and now am to far away to have my dr and that has been hard now im glad i have found this as its somewhere i can come and ask different things that worry me about the band and share the positive things that go with being banded

    G'day everyone

hi matt great to have you on board i to live in tasmania and have had my band for 6 years with very little problems. And glad to hear you have done so well
  21. taninoz

    Hi

yes you can do this and welcome to this site. I am also new to this site and have found it a great support. You say you cant lose your weight and have gained maybe you need to cut out your sugars and try a healthy shake or fruit to give you a natural sugar boost. I have ahd my band 6 years and lost and gained and i know its all down to what i eat. You really only need to exercise 3 times a week for an hour or every day for half an hour that could be why your muscles ache. Well keep trying and dont give up as you will look back and go wow what a long way i have come.
  22. i had my gall bladder removed in april and while i was under my band was checked and told it is still like new ( i have had my band 6 years) but latley it has had me worried as i have back ache and ache in left sholder and a feeling of fullness in my throat/stomach and just wonder if anyone might know if it could be band related. I have also been told i have ibs due to anixety but the stupid thing is i worry that it is my band and not anything else. i have lost 25kgs and very happy just worry to much hope someone might know if its band related or i am just stressed!

    New From Ireland

hope all is going well i to have only found this site and its great. I have had my ban on for 6 years and am very happy and hope you will to . We have great banding drs in australia and are very lucky looking forward to hearing about your progress
  24. hi dominicana first i hope you are successful in getting your banding done. I have no regrets and and have had no problems for 6 years except when they first put it in i rejected the port but that could have just been me i was the first one he had had that had done that so soon. i have lost a healthy amount of weight and look and feel great but im not a sixe 12 as i didnt what to get too small and struggle to keep it off even my dr was ok with my decision as long as i was happy. I have just had all my saline out as i had to have a gall bladder op and he wanted me to have a rest. and i still havent gained any weight in the 6 months break i have had. which is great for me it means i am eating a much better diet which is really positive to know after 6 years. trust me you wont regret it it doesnt hurt you just feel like you have been kicked by a mule. i just now hope it last another 6 years with no complications
