I'm from New Jersey! I live in West Windsor (near Princeton). My surgery date is 8/12. :-)

  • Oh wow, that's coming soon. Good luck to you! I live in Union County and my surgery is scheduled for 10/16. I am very nervous

I'm so happy I did it. I've lost 81 pounds so far Let me know if you have any questions

That's awesome Gingeran03! If I may ask, what was your SW? How long after surgery did you start working out?

Sw was 296 (I didnt have to do any pre op diet ). I started working out lightly a month later. I'm working out three days a week now (spin class or walking ). But plan on upping it after Labor Day

That's great!!! It's great to see people's progress! My doc doesn't require the pre op diet either, which I was wondering about seeing as everyone's posts I've been reading all say they did the pre op so it's comforting to see not everyone is required to do it.

What are you starting at ? Let me know if you have any more questions. I was scared and it turned out so much better than I thought

South Jersey here. I'm still working on getting approved. I have 1 more nut visit and my psych eval which both will be completed by sept 18th. Then I play the waiting game for approval. Crossing my fingers! Good luck to everyone.

Southern NJ here (Atlantic County)...planning on being sleeved in October.

If you don't mind telling... What was starting weight? Current weight nd how long postop?

I'm in Northern NJ and my surgery will be performed by Dr. Strom on 11/20/13. He's awesome!!!

My starting weight was 274, I had surgery Sept. 19, 4 weeks out, I've lost a total of 33lbs so far. How is everything going with you?

I was sleeved by Dr. Strom Wednesday. Love him! Recovery was harder than I expected but I'm coming along. Still very sore.

What has been the most difficult part of recovery thus far?

The nausea lasted 2 days, dry heaving hurts! Since it stopped I am much better, doing fine with my fluids and Protein, just a lot more sore and tired than I expected. I am planning to go to work tomorrow (desk job), hoping I can hang in there. I guess I just expected to bounce back quicker (had the band before), but it's still quite painful.

I wish you all the best on your 1st day back to work....take it slow and you will be fine!!! :)
