  1. I second Dr. Strom. He just did my sleeve on 10/16, also did my band 7 yrs ago, no problems with either surgery. Staff is great, care is great. No complaints
  2. You do look amazing, great job! Glad u had a good time, and lots of awesome moments. Can't wait to be in your shoes
  3. The nausea lasted 2 days, dry heaving hurts! Since it stopped I am much better, doing fine with my fluids and Protein, just a lot more sore and tired than I expected. I am planning to go to work tomorrow (desk job), hoping I can hang in there. I guess I just expected to bounce back quicker (had the band before), but it's still quite painful.
  4. I was sleeved by Dr. Strom Wednesday. Love him! Recovery was harder than I expected but I'm coming along. Still very sore.
  5. I was sleeved on the 16th also and it's definately rougher than I expected. I was nauseous and dry heaving when I woke up til yesterday am...I'm also in a fair amount of pain, was given Tylenol 3 but I don't like crushing them...how is everyone else doing??
  6. Just got my IV in, waiting for the dr to come by...scheduled for 11:15. I'm sooo nervous but can't wait to be on the other side!!
  7. What a crazy day...my dr. Just called, he spoke with the surgeon, wants me to come for more blood work Monday am to see if levels increased so hopefully to keep me on track for Wednesday! I'm happy to at least have the chance to still be sleeved next week. Hopefully I can get that # up. Thanks for all the support
  8. Thank you, that's sweet i had to have IV potassium when I had my Lap band removed in March, have been taking big horse pills since. Dr took me off a med that had a diuretic in it and increased me to the pill 4 x a day, but says it won't be high enough by Wednesday. I don't know when I'll be able to get this done now with work and kids and all, plus my job doesn't like to allow time off nov & dec cause it's our busy season...stressed!
  9. So my surgery has been cancelled. My potassium is 2.9 after increasing my supplements by 3x...I'm so upset. I have everything in order with work, my kids, pre op diet going...ughhh
  10. Nice to meet you, I'm Melissa, getting sleeved on the 16th of this month and I also have a shih tzu baby who is like my 5th child! Lol...I'm new here too, but I love it already.
  11. I'm Oct 16 in Montclair Nj! Starting 1 week pre-op diet tomorrow. Excited and nervous!
  12. My surgery is 10/16, I start my pre-op diet Wednesday. I'm also on 2 other meds for my sugar, hopefully it will improve with losing some of this weight. My last weight check was 253.
  13. Mine was 11, they sent me to an endocrinologist who started me on insulin, but wants me to go thru with the surgery. Hoping with weight loss it will come down. The concern is with healing, so praying no issues! Good luck.
  14. Hi all. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Melissa, 35, sleeve date 10/16 in Montclair NJ. Had the lap band in 06, lost a total of about 50lbs in between having babies. Had the band removed this past March...I've been reading these boards for about a week now so figured I'd say hello. I'm starting to get nervous!
