  3. I'm 4 weeks out and I'm just starting to feel like my "normal" self. Up until last week I needed to take a daily nap like a baby!!!....allow yourself time to heal and the pain will cease and your energy level will come back.
  4. Gas X strips helps me relieve my gas....I'm 15 days post op and still have gas!!!

  6. I'm 9 days post op and can have mushy foods. As my doctor told me the diet is generic and every body has a different healing process. If you are able to handle mushy foods before the generic diet says you can have it, just pick up the phone and have the conversation with you doctor and he may progress you to the next stage sooner. Don't be afraid of your sleeve based on others opinions....this is how many people go into starvation mode and look sickly with the sleeve because they are afraid to eat based on horror stories (not saying it can't happen, but according to statistics thus far it is rare).
  7. I've lost 21lbs in 9 days and I'm 35 yrs old and as of today I feel great....but I didn't start drinking water & feeling 1/2 human until day 6 when I went outside and forced myself to walk and get fresh air in my lungs...your body needs oxygen to assist in the healing process and I know it's cliche but the more I walked the better I felt.

  10. I'm 5 days post op and dealing with it now....I won't lie to you, it's even tougher to deal with the surgery pain and menstrual pain, so I pop the pain pills every 4 hrs just to remain comfy...and I highly recommend having someone to help you in the bathroom/shower because the whole hygiene thing is super tough to do by yourself. Thank God for my fiancé helping me with it all.

  16. My surgery is Nov. 20th and that's also my 35th B-day...I'm super excited for my B-day gift!!! I'm doing pretty well on my pre-op diet although I did cheat on Saturday for my early B-day dinner. I also recommend unjury products, they are so tasty BUT my NUT does not recommend the unjury chicken soup because it is very HIGH in sodium...check the sodium on the soup labels because although some diets allow soups, not all soups are good for you.

  27. I'm having my surgery with Dr. Karl Strom and he is 1 of the best. I'm not just saying that but it is well documented. Dr. Strom works out of Moutainside Hospital which is now part of Hackensack Univ. Medical Center and the hospital is also considered a center of excellence when it comes to WLS. I did years of research and visiting different surgeons before I made my decision to use Dr. Strom. He's so down the earth and his staff is just as great. I can call the office 3 or 4 times a day with questions and they are so helpful (minus the attitude!). Good luck to you!
  28. Go Steelers Nation.... ...I just had too say it!
  29. Hi my name is Nikki and my surgery date is Nov. 20th which is also my 35th b-day!!! I can't wait, now all I need is for Horizon BCBS to approve me this week!
  30. I wish you all the best on your 1st day back to work....take it slow and you will be fine!!!
  31. What has been the most difficult part of recovery thus far?
  32. I'm in Northern NJ and my surgery will be performed by Dr. Strom on 11/20/13. He's awesome!!!
