New from Indiana

Hi. I'm going to my first seminar this week, and I've already started my paperwork. Anyone from Indiana? Who did you use for your Dr? If all goes well and insurance approves my surgery (they should), it should be about 6 weeks from now. I've been researching since October and I wish I would've started the process sooner. What kind of support system (besides this forum) seems to work the best? I know my husband will be supportive, and my daughter, but does it work best to have a friend, too? Thanks and talk to you all soon!

About 70 miles north of Indianapolis. I went to my MD this morning and he is giving me the referral to the lapband surgeon! Yay!!!!! So next is the seminar and the consult w/surgeon, then on to see if surgery is approved through insurance. A bit of a wait, I'm sure.

Any Dr. McEwen patients here?

  • 2 years later...

Hi, I live in Noblesville, IN. just north of Fishers, IN. and new to the list. I just decided yesterday to get the lap band done. Cheryl Conwell (Dr. McEwen's nurse) is my son's neighbor. She is supposed to get me set up with the paperwork and my appointments. I had already decided to use Dr. McEwen and was telling my daughter-in-law when she told me that Cheryl worked there. Strange coincidence, Huh?
